Our Programming Initiatives

Our 10 initiatives address real community needs through education, support, empowerment and opportunity. Each program strengthens individuals, families and neighborhoods.

01

Youth Rising Initiative

RISE: Reaching, Inspiring, Strengthening, Excellence
WHO IT SERVES · AGES 6–24

The Youth Rising Initiative provides children, teenagers and young adults with supportive environments where they can develop academically, socially, creatively and personally. Through strategic partnerships with area schools, the initiative seeks to increase reading aptitude, strengthen literacy skills, encourage academic achievement and nurture confidence, leadership and personal growth.

As young people prepare for adulthood, the initiative expands to include college readiness, FAFSA and scholarship assistance, career exploration, workforce preparation and connections to internships and employment opportunities. Creative arts, fitness classes, cultural activities and community service help young people discover their gifts, develop healthy relationships and become engaged members of their communities. Weekend and summer activities create safe, productive spaces for continued learning and development.

02

Healing and Safe Communities Initiative

Peace in the Park: Healing People, Building Community
WHO IT SERVES · AGES 11 AND OLDER

The Healing and Safe Communities Initiative recognizes that stronger communities are built when people have opportunities to heal, develop healthy relationships and learn constructive ways of addressing conflict. Through culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches, the program promotes emotional wellness, violence prevention, conflict resolution and community safety.

Programming includes mental wellness education, anger management, restorative justice, grief and bereavement support and healthy-relationship education. When needs extend beyond community programming—particularly situations such as homelessness—participants may be connected with qualified behavioral-health and area social-service providers.

Pathways to Prosperity Program

WHO IT SERVES · AGES 16 AND OLDER

Pathways to Prosperity helps young people and adults develop the knowledge, skills and connections needed to pursue meaningful employment, career advancement and greater financial stability.

Participants are connected to job-readiness training, résumé and interview preparation, career coaching and referrals to employers, training programs, internships and summer employment opportunities. Skilled-trades and pre-apprenticeship opportunities introduce alternative pathways toward sustainable careers, while financial-literacy and credit education support informed financial decisions.

Entrepreneurship and small-business development workshops encourage participants to transform skills, ideas and creativity into sustainable economic opportunity. The program seeks not only to guide individuals toward gainful employment, but also to strengthen the economic vitality of families and neighborhoods.

04

Digital Connections and Innovation Hub

WHO IT SERVES · AGES 10 AND OLDER

The Digital Connections and Innovation Hub works to reduce the digital divide by expanding access to technology and developing skills needed for education, employment, healthcare and everyday life.

Community members can access computers and participate in digital-literacy instruction, internet and online-safety education, coding, media production and other technology-based learning opportunities. Young people can explore technology as a pathway toward future careers, while adults can receive assistance with online employment applications, digital communication and accessing essential services.

Special attention is given to helping older adults confidently navigate computers, smartphones, online resources and emerging technologies. Participants may also receive assistance accessing telehealth services, benefits portals and virtual programs, helping technology become a bridge to opportunity rather than a barrier.

Community Wellness and Prevention Initiative

WHO IT SERVES · ALL AGES

The Community Wellness and Prevention Initiative promotes healthier individuals, families and neighborhoods by increasing access to reliable health information, preventive services and trusted community resources.

Through health fairs, screenings, wellness workshops and partnerships with healthcare and community organizations, residents can learn more about preventive care and available services. Programming may address mental wellness, stress management, chronic-disease prevention, nutrition, physical activity and other factors that influence quality of life.

When additional services are needed, participants can be connected with appropriate healthcare and community providers. The initiative encourages residents to view wellness not simply as the absence of illness, but as an ongoing commitment to physical, emotional and community well-being.

06

Nourishing Neighbors Program

Grow, Gather, Nourish
WHO IT SERVES · ALL AGES

The Nourishing Neighbors Program addresses immediate food needs while promoting nutrition, healthy living and greater household food security.

Partnerships with area food pantry services, grocery distributions, emergency food assistance and summer meal opportunities help ensure that children, adults and families have access to nutritious food. Nutrition education, cooking demonstrations, meal-planning activities and food-budgeting workshops help participants make healthy choices within real household budgets.

Community gardening gives residents of different generations opportunities to grow fresh produce, learn about food systems and share the harvest with neighbors. Food becomes more than a response to hunger—it becomes a vehicle for education, relationship-building, health and community resilience.

07

Family Resource and Stability Center

Stronger Families, Stronger Futures
WHO IT SERVES · ADULTS 18+ AND FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN

Rather than recreating already existing initiatives, the Family Resource and Stability Center provides a welcoming point of connection for individuals and families seeking information, referrals and practical resources to strengthen household stability.

Participants can receive assistance identifying community resources, understanding public benefits and locating emergency assistance. The center’s primary focus is connecting residents with housing and utility resources, employment opportunities, healthcare services, educational programs and other already existing community supports. Beyond immediate needs, the initiative helps individuals and families develop sustainable pathways toward greater stability and well-being.

08

Second Chances and Community Stability Initiative

Returning Citizens Programming
WHO IT SERVES · AGES 18 AND OLDER

The Second Chances and Community Stability Initiative supports individuals and families navigating barriers involving employment, housing, legal concerns, financial stability and successful community reentry.

Individuals returning from incarceration or overcoming other significant life barriers can receive referrals for employment, workforce training, housing resources and community-based support. Educational legal clinics and seminars such as “Knowing Your Rights” provide general information about important matters affecting individuals and families and connect residents with qualified legal professionals when appropriate.

The initiative is grounded in the belief that people deserve meaningful opportunities to rebuild stability, contribute their gifts and participate fully in community life.

Bring On The NOYZ Arts, Heritage and Cultural Awareness Initiative

WHO IT SERVES · AGES 8 AND OLDER

This initiative utilizes creativity, culture, history and civic participation to strengthen identity, community pride and relationships across generations. Music, creative and visual arts, cultural programs, dramatic performances and exhibitions provide opportunities for residents to develop and share their creativity. Intergenerational storytelling preserves community history by creating spaces where elders, adults and young people can exchange experiences, traditions and perspectives.

Civic and voter education, community listening sessions, volunteer opportunities and neighborhood-service projects encourage residents to participate actively in shaping their communities. Environmental education and beautification projects connect cultural pride with stewardship of the neighborhoods in which people live, work, worship and raise families. Art of NOYZ Ministries also offers Conflict Resolution Martial Arts as a vehicle to teach awareness, unity, perseverance and self-control.
